What is this Young Life thing all about anyway.......
Young Life began in the 1940's in Gainsville, TX. and is now a worldwide outreach to teenagers. Young Life has young adults and young professionals who volunteer their time as leaders who do "contact work" at local schools, spending time watching and showing an interest in kids lives, developing a friendship and, and "earning the right to be heard" and talk about life and what kind of impact faith has had on their lives. Each week, club is the place to be! It's an evening we get together and have a great time with hilarious skits, games, competitions, surprises, music, and a brief time where we open the Bible and share what it says about life. For kids who're interested in learning more about God, campaigners is Young Life's version of a small group. Here, our leaders talk about how life and God match up and what the Bible has to say about many of the circumstances we all experience. Our hope is to connect each student who wants, to a local church where they can get involved and grow deeper in their faith and knowledge of Jesus. But don't forget camp. During the summer, we take bus loads of kids to "the best week of their lives, or their money back!" Young Life has over 20 properties around the world, and hosts thousands of teenagers each year at an incredible Camp Resort. It's not your normal experience, but one that is far above any expectations and designed specifically for teenagers! What is Young Life Golf all about .......
For 14 years we have put together a Golf Marathon for the purpose of raising funds to touch the lives of teenagers here in the Scottsdale area. The Golf Marathon has proven to be one of our most enthusiastically supported events and a significant resource for the work of Young Life in the Scottsdale area. For this year's Marathon, we are at Dove Valley Ranch Golf Course. So please join us on Friday, April 23rd as we anticipate a great event and seek to support Young Life's effort to influence teenage lives in the area ... one putt at a time!
